Daily Mail: ‘Lady’ set to star at Sandown Park

Collinda Lady broke the Geelong 680m track record last start and she is contesting a Grade 5 715m race at Sandown Park today, but the in-form Nifty Nangar will be a strong challenger.

Amnesty was a brilliant heat winner over 595m last Sunday and she headlines a Restricted Win final with the other heat winner Soda Saville considered her biggest rival, while two-time Group placegetter Hamillson is the standout chaser in a Mixed 4/5 515m event.

G1 finalist Xavien Bale v Shima Sheen v Duncan v Gunai Rebel should be a top battle at Healesville, while Maxwell v G3 finalist Chop Scotch v Rasputin and Elmo Rose v Lakeview Bonnie should be great clashes at Sale tonight.

The Watchdog says ?: COLLINDA LADY (2) is expected to pounce on the lead and she will be carving out ridiculous sectionals, however I think she is going to be a little suspect late. If the more seasoned NIFTY NANGAR (5) can settle close enough, he should be able to make a move mid-race and be there to threaten as they turn for home. At the price, I would rather be on him than the unproven favourite.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:

Kennel and littermate COLLINDA PATTY made an outstanding 715m debut on Thursday night with a breathtaking 41.40sec victory and today COLLINDA LADY (2) is tackling the 715m journey for the first time. I have no doubt that she will run the journey over time, however she has only had three runs beyond 525m, and she did appear to get tired at the end of her 680m victory at Geelong. I’m expecting her to pounce on the lead, however she may be a sitting duck for her more seasoned rivals in NIFTY NANGAR (5) and NOT HAPPENING (7). ‘Nangar’ has won three on the spin and with the smaller line-up, he should be able to settle in the top three and he will be strong in the run home. NOT HAPPENING is always thereabouts in this company and he should be able to find the rail soon after box rise, so he may be the value runner. It should be an intriguing affair and if COLLINDA LADY runs the journey, she could blow up the semaphore board.

? $4 Multi

First
?:
Win – HAMILLSON
? Sandown Park ? Race 8 ? Box 3 ? 515m ⏱ 4:21pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.60 Win

Second
?: Place – ELMO ROSE
? Sale ? Race 9 ? Box 4 ? 440m ⏱ 7:27pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.60 Place (Top two finish required)

Third
?: Place – DUNWERKIN
? Sale ? Race 12 ? Box 1 ? 520m ⏱ 8:30pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.45 Place (Top two finish required)
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666542997/race/12

The Watchdog says
? : HAMILLSON (3) has been impressive in his two runs since resuming and he looks suited today. There is minimal pace drawn inside, so he should pounce on the lead and score with ease. ELMO ROSE (4) continues to elevate his game and he looks very well graded today. He should match motors with LAKEVIEW BONNIE (7) for most of the journey and a top-two finish looks likely. DUNWERKIN (1) is an improving type, and he is drawn to get all the breaks tonight, so with a clean getaway, a top-two finish looks likely.

Multi price: $3.71

? $4 Win – RIVER ROUGH
? Sale ? Race 1 ? Box 7 ? 440m ⏱ 5:04pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.80 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666542997/race/1

The Watchdog says
? : RIVER ROUGH (7) was well supported in his debut run at Warragul and he appears better suited drawn out wide tonight. He exited Box 1 on debut and never looked comfortable with runners on his outside which resulted in him wanting to push wide through the bend to get into some clear running. With a clean getaway tonight, he should get into the clear quickly and we will get to see his true ability. His kennelmate LONGDOWN (2) has opened firm in the market and I’m expecting him to have plenty of talent, however I think RIVER ROUGH (7) showed more than enough on debut to suggest he can get the cash tonight.
