Daily Mail: ‘Cool Lad’ set to fire at The Meadows

G3 Shootout placegetter McCooly’s Lad and potential star Mobile Legend are set to highlight today’s meeting at The Meadows.

Well-performed chasers Invictus Jaxson and Providence Bale should have a terrific duel too.

Prolific winners Rilynn Bale, Benchester (dual G2 finalist) and Rocket Boy clash at Ballarat tonight, while G2 Healesville Cup placegetter Hill Top Jonah and the exciting On The Bit also appear.

? Must Watch Race ?

Mixed Grade 6/7

? The Meadows ? Race 2
? 525m ⏱ 12:07pm

The Watchdog says ?:  MOBILE LEGEND (2) is a serious prospect, and he will be carving out time. WILLY CAN DO (1) and ZIPPY YAMAHA (3) should get a nice run through and can fill second.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:
MOBILE LEGEND (2) has only had four starts, however, he announced himself as a potential star with two breathtaking Bendigo wins in October. He stepped up in class last time out and turned in a gutsy performance behind star speedster PAUA OF OSCAR, so he should find this event a lot easier and with a clear run early, he has the potential to go sub 29.90sec. He will continue to get better with more racing, and he may be a major player in the Group 1 Silver Chief at The Meadows in the coming months.

The Watchdog’s selections: 2 – 3 – 1 – 7

First
?:
Win – LONELY LISA
? The Meadows ? Race 3 ? Box 1 ? 525m ⏱ 12:27pm
TAB fixed odds: $3 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539213/race/3

Second
?: Place – EL CAZADOR

TAB fixed odds: $1.80 Place (Top two finish required)

Third
?: Win – ISOLATING
? Cranbourne ? Race 8 ? Box 1 ? 520m ⏱ 9:11pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.65 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539216/race/8

The Watchdog says
? : LONELY LISA (1) will appreciate the drop in class, and she is drawn to lead throughout. EL CAZADOR (4) has been crying out for this distance range and with an ounce of luck in running, a top-two finish looks likely. ISOLATING (1) has plenty on his rivals and he should be leading from go-to-whoa.

Multi price:

? $3 Win – HILL TOP JONAH
? Ballarat ? Race 6 ? Box 3 ? 450m ⏱ 8:37pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.20 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539215/race/6

The Watchdog says
? : He has unrivalled pace soon after box rise, and he returned to his best with a dazzling 22.40sec Geelong win last Thursday night. There is limited pace inside, so he should have no trouble crossing and he will turn for home with a nice break.

? $4 Win – FORREST ELBOW
? Ballarat ? Race 9 ? Box 5 ? 450m ⏱ 9:38pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.15 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539215/race/9

The Watchdog says
? : Serious talent and she is the best bet of the day clearly. She has been enormous in her two wins to date, and she has given every indication that she will appreciate the rise in distance. There are a couple of promising types, but she is the real deal, and they will have to run sub 25.10sec to reel her in.
