‘Flame’ fires with new Shepparton 385m TR

Superstar Aston Rupee has been taking the greyhound world by storm. He recently won the G1 Topgun and followed up with the G3 Shootout. He’s also favourite for the G1 TAB Melbourne Cup on Friday night.

But little sister Aston Flame is having her own ‘moment in the sun’.

Trained at Longlea by Ian Garland, Aston Flame ($1.30F) had her own ‘21.30 seconds of fame’, establishing a new Shepparton 385m track record with a scorching 8.6L win. She eclipsed the previous mark of 21.31sec, set by Ferdinand Boy on July 5.

Aston Flame (Apr ’19 KC And All x Aston Miley) notched her fifth successive win – including the $25,000 to-the-winner G3 Northern Districts Cup – and has now won 12 races from 21 starts.

She was also a Bendigo Roses finalist in July.
