Daily Mail: ‘Rebel’ faces ‘Cazz’ at Bendigo

An enthralling duel is set to take place in this afternoon’s Mixed 4/5 500m race at Bendigo when Rebellious (14 from 21) – The Watchdog’s selection – faces G1 Rookie Rebel winner Fernando Cazz.

Another great battle is expected between G2 placegetter Hill Top Jonah (16 from 34 – 3 from 3 Box 4), G2 finalist Oriental Amber (25 from 56) and Listed winner Zipping Zarbo (30 from 68) in the Mixed 3/4 425m event.

G3 finalist Gotham Duke v Tobin Frost, Big Fonzie (5 from 9 – 2 from 2 Trk/Dst) v Golden Skyrocket v Merry Lass (2 of last 3) and dual G3 finalist Reloaded v In The Spotlight (5 from 10) should all be terrific clashes.

G3 runner-up My Name’s Stacey (5 from 7 – 2 from 3 Box 1) v Starlight Tyson (5 from 11) v Money Owes (4 from 7) v Painkiller and Soda Titan (2 of last 4) v Bag Secured v Golden Quest are both quality 500m Restricted Win heats.

At Horsham tonight, Braemar Prince (18 from 38 – 7 from 8 Trk/Dst) and Crackerjack Keg (3 of last 5) are set to provide an amazing duel in the 410m Free For All.

Big Boy Brooke v Parlo Bale v Abalone Fozz v G2 finalist Daniel Avocado v Blackpool Bolt will be highly competitive, while Weblec Opal should be victorious according to The Watchdog.

Gunai Rebel v Aston Profit v Quintana Bale v Jen Jumbo Prawn (4 of last 6) v Ephemeral (won last 3) v Aston Mireya (22.45sec PB) is an extremely open Mixed 4/5 400m race at Geelong this evening.

Dual G2 placegetter Fortuna Bale v Fernando’s Quest (2 of last 4) v Western Blazer contest the Mixed 4/5 460m event, while Combust is expected to prevail.

Knuckle Buster and Need A Jockey should both triumph at Healesville’s Tier 3 meeting.

? MUST-WATCH RACE: Peter Brown Custom Homes Mixed 4/5

FERNANDO CAZZ ? REBELLIOUS

? Bendigo ? Race 8 ? 500m 4:47pm

Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539159/race/8

The Watchdog says
?: REBELLIOUS (6) is one of the most exciting chasers in the state and he is expected to obliterate the clock today. He has proven in his past two at Sandown Park that he has no trouble running out the extra journey and his 29.11sec win was simply breathtaking. He has come up with box six and for most chasers, that would normally not be ideal, however he does like to stay wide in his races, and he is fairly reliable at box rise. So, with a clear passage early, he could give the track record (27.52sec) a nudge if the track is in good condition. If there is to be a danger today, it appears to be Group 1 winner FERNANDO CAZZ (3). She has been sparingly raced of late, however she did carve out a blistering 500m before getting tired in a heat of the Group 1 Hume Cup at The Meadows on October 23. That was her first run in five weeks, so she will be much better for the run and the encouraging part of that performance was that she was still able to carve out elite sectionals for most of the journey. SO PREDICTABLE (2) could be the value runner in the event. He will get back early but he can charge to the line, and he will scrape the paint throughout. With a sizzling 28.05sec PB here, he could be a good anchor in your exotic bets.

TAB fixed odds: $1.95 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539157/race/1

The Watchdog says
? : MY NAME’S STACEY (1) is a legitimate star in the making and she is drawn to make every post a winner. There are a couple of handy ones in the event, but they will need to go sub 27.80sec to reel her in. MEPUNGA WEB (8) turned in a strong performance when placed on debut and he really got into his work once he got to the outside and into some clear air. From the favourable draw, he should balance up quickly and he will be off-and-gone through the bend.

? Bendigo ? Race 6 ? Box 3 ? 500m ⏱ 4:02pm

TAB fixed odds: $1.85 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539159/race/12

The Watchdog says
? : TOBIN FROST (3) has been crying out for this distance range and although he meets a handy one in GOTHAM DUKE (2), he can run a big race today. The ‘Duke’ should lead them up and that will allow ‘Tobin’ to follow him through and he will be very strong in the run to the line. MULGA BILL (1) returned to racing with a blistering Horsham win and he is expected to take a power of beating again. He meets a very steady line-up and with a clean getaway, there should be no excuses.

Multi price:
$3.70

? $1 Trifecta – 6 / 2 / 1,3,5 (33.33%)

The Watchdog says
? : REBELLIOUS (6) looks perfectly placed today and he is expected to blow his rivals away. SO PREDICTABLE (2) is a strong type and he will take advantage of some rails runs mid race, so we have anchored him for second and third in the trifecta. FERNANDO CAZZ (3) needs to be respected; however, we have included MISTER FRANK (1) and REAR VIEW MIRROR (5) at the value.
