Daily Mail: ‘Fix It’ set to nail Geelong win

Dual G1 placegetter Mr. Fix It – second in five of his last six starts – is expected to prevail in a Mixed 4/5 520m race at Geelong this afternoon despite the appearance of kennelmate and fellow dual G1 placegetter Tyler Durden.

G1 finalists Envy To Burn and Papi Go Fast are contesting a Mixed 4/5 400m event.

Straight track aficionados Hello George and Slingshot Reaper (won his last six) duel at Healesville in a 300m Free For All, while impressive last-start winner Panama Canal headlines a 300m Restricted Win heat.

G3 finalist Gold Skulltula and Sandown Park 29.26 winner Just Like Mick clash in a 520m Grade 5 heat at Sale this evening.

The Watchdog says
? : He is a really powerful type, and he has been racing well without winning in town. He is going to need some luck in running, however there is plenty of pace drawn inside and out, so he should be able to get a nice sit early on and he will be very strong in the run to the line.

? Must Watch Race ?

Mixed Grade 4/5

? Geelong ? Race 8
? 520m ⏱ 4:37pm

The Watchdog says ?: Dual Group 1 placegetter MR. FIX IT (2) should be leading throughout today, while his kennelmate TYLER DURDEN (1) should be able to run home into second spot. MIDORIYAMA (3) is a strong type, while RIPPLEBROOK GLEN (4) and LEKTRA RHINO (7) are on-speed runners, so they have been included for third.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:

MR. FIX IT (2) is one of the state’s premier sprinters and he is expected to return to the winners list today. He has been sparingly raced of late and has been beaten in his past six, however one of those defeats was a second placing in the Group 1 Adelaide Cup Final. Today’s assignment is a significant drop in class, so he should pounce on the lead soon after box rise and be in control throughout. His kennelmate TYLER DURDEN (1) returns from a spell, and he too is expected to race well. He doesn’t have the same type of early speed as the favourite; however, he has strength on his side, and he is drawn to settle a little closer than normal. LEKTRA RHINO (7) has turned in some great performances of late, while RIPPLEBROOK GLEN (4) shouldn’t be too far away.
