Dogs to follow – Get Out, Zipping Starsky and Journey Beyond

Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of greyhounds to follow from around Victoria. You may even want to add them to your Blackbook account.

GET OUT (Box 6)
Breeding:
Nov ’20 Aussie Infrared x Screen Shot
Trainer: Paul Abela, Parwan
Record: 2 starts 0-1-0

Dale says: Get Out has had no luck in his first two runs. After coming from the rear to run second on debut, I was really taken by his next start when running fourth over 595m at Sandown Park, as he hardly got left alone and ran home strongly beaten in good time. Get Out is still learning, he has plenty of scope for improvement, and I believe he will develop into a more than handy middle-distance city performer.

Best traits: Strength and persistence
Ideal distance: 650m
Ideal draw: Box 1

ZIPPING STARSKY (Box 1)
Breeding:
Jul ’20 Zipping Garth x Zipping Willow
Trainer: Paul Abela, Parwan
Record: 9 starts 3-2-2

Dale says: Paul Abela has found himself a smart sprinter here. Since moving to Victoria, Zipping Starsky has turned in some top shelf runs, and none better than his last start Shepparton win when running down the promising Gunai Prince in slick time. Zipping Starsky can develop into an elite provincial sprinter.

Best trait: Will to win; can weave through traffic
Ideal draw: Box 8
Ideal distance: 400-450m

JOURNEY BEYOND (Box 8)
Breeding:
Feb ’21 Keybow x Bogie Princess
Trainer: Kayla Cottrell, Pearcedale
Record: 2 starts 2-0-0

Dale says: Journey Beyond has only had two starts winning a maiden heat (22.72sec) and final (22.42 sec) in brilliant fashion over 400m at Warragul. Journey Beyond boasts a ridiculous turn of early speed once balanced and at just 19 months of age, he can develop into a top class sprinter.

Best trait: Exceptional muster
Ideal draw: Mad for Box 8
Ideal distance: 450m
