‘Chase’ off to a ‘Great’ start!

The 2022 Group 3 Great Chase, which supports the disability sector, got off to a ‘great’ start last week.

Heats conducted at Bendigo (500m) / Traralgon (500m) on Friday and Sandown Park (515m) / Sale (440m) on Sunday unearthed some future stars – the norm for this ‘Racing and Community Events Series’ since its inception in 2003.

Great performances were handed in by Solace (28.05sec) at Bendigo and Fred Rose (27.82sec) at Traralgon, while Great Guy (29.52sec) and Volkanovski (24.61sec) were stars of the show at Sandown Park and Sale respectively.

Early this week, heats continue at Shepparton (450m) on Monday; Horsham (485m) and Warragul (460m) on Tuesday; The Meadows (525m) and Ballarat (450m) on Wednesday.

Ballarat – Wednesday
Heat 16 (Race 7, 8.50pm) – Quest For Extra (Box 1) and Shadow Riot (Box 4)
Heat 17 (Race 8, 9.11pm) – Incineration (Box 5) and Acclaimed (Box 8)

The Meadows – Wednesday
Heat 18 (Race 5, 8.18pm) – Responder (Box 1)
Heat 19 (Race 6, 8.41pm) – Amron Lass (Box 1) and Commander Tommy (Box 8)
Heat 20 (Race 7, 8.57pm) – Amron Dan (Box 2) and Cosmic Sin (Box 8)

Further heats will be conducted at Geelong (460m) and Warrnambool (450m) on Thursday.
