Three-time Group 2 country cup winner Ferdinand Boy races for the first time since the Group 2 Shepparton Cup Final in a 385m Free For All, but last-start winner Freya Bale will be a big danger.

G3 finalist Deadly Class and the unbeaten Elite Jet duel in a 450m Mixed 6/7 final, while Luca’s Jebrynah, Code Cracker and Fascinate Aussie battle in a Mixed 4/5 385m race.

In the meeting at Sale that begins this morning, The Horizon finalist Whistling Bullet, Dr. Danika and Maxwell should produce a competitive encounter in a Mixed 3/4 440m event.

The Watchdog says ?: With the lack of pace in one and two, ZIPPING SCORCHER (3) should have the pace to cross and lead and he is very hard to get past. ON THE BIT (4) is going to be hard to beat, however he is likely to be giving away a head start and that could be the difference.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:

Great line-up with two brilliant speedsters expected to light up the clock. ON THE BIT (4) is one of the most gifted chasers in work and he should make amends for his luckless run when resuming in a heat of the Group 3 Murray Bridge Cup. His box manners can let him down at times, but he has a ridiculous turn of foot and if he gets a look at them mid-race, he will prove very hard to hold out. ZIPPING SCORCHER (3) is his main rival and my pick in the race. He has scored some blistering wins on the provincial circuit of late and with a lack of pace drawn in boxes one and two, I’m expecting him to pounce on the lead and he can press the 25-second barrier. Fingers crossed the two main fancies gain a clear passage.
