In case you missed it

Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of runs from around Victoria that have caught the eye over the past fortnight.

#1 ROTHWELL CHUNK (Box 1)
Breeding: Mar ’20 Barcia Bale x Taste Da Rainbow
Trainer: Matthew Nash, Little River
Record: 8 starts 3-0-1

Dale says: “The time may have not been flash but Rothwell Chunk had favourite punters shouting for joy with this outstanding last-to-first victory. After a moderate beginning, Rothwell Chunk was squeezed out to last and was spotting the leaders a huge start mid-race. Hooking to the outside and still with plenty of work to do, he sprouted wings up the home straight to snatch victory right on the line.”     Results

#2 BLACK SAIL (Box 2)
Breeding: May ’20 Superior Panama x Trixta Rox
Trainer: Ned McDonald, Pearcedale
Record: 7 starts 4-1-0

Dale says: “Absolutely loved this win by Black Sail. Given the quality of opposition and the smart time recorded (29.44sec), this was a top-shelf performance. Beginning slowly, Black Sail showed brilliant track sense to weave his way through the field before overcoming some trouble in the home straight to power home and claim victory.”     Results

#3 KID MALAWI (Box 5)
Breeding:
Dec ’17 Take the Kitty x Secretary Bird
Trainer: Terry Meyer, Invergordon
Record: 59 starts 5-25-12

Dale says: “Track specialist Kid Malawi turned in this massive run when finishing an unlucky second in what was, quite remarkably, his 56th start up the Healesville straight. After getting off to a steady start, he found early bother attempting to get to the inside rail. Once balanced, he headed out towards the middle of the track in pursuit of the leader and made up good ground in quick time before just falling short of victory in an eye-catching performance.”     Results
