Daily Mail: ‘Bale’ duo issue ‘storm’ warning

Kennelmates Abelero Bale and Langfield Bale will ‘team up’ to try to prevent exciting NSW import Typhoon Sammy making it 2 from 2 in his new home state in The Watchdog’s ‘Must Watch’ race of the day at Ballarat on Friday night.

Typhoon Sammy (12 from 19 – 5 of past 6), a newcomer to the all-conquering Jason Thompson kennel, created ‘waves’ at his Victorian debut with a scorching 24.70sec BON victory at Sale, with Mark Delbridge’s duo Abelero Bale (17 from 76) and Langfield Bale (8 from 41) looming as his main dangers.

Overshadowed (11 from 25 – 3 of past 5), another interstate addition to the Thompson team, has also impressed since relocating from NSW and will feature in a highlight Ballarat clash against Aston Mireya (12 from 45).

Thompson also has an excellent chance in Collinda Beast (10 from 23), which is dropping back from 715m to 545m.

In what could be a huge night for Thompson, the champion mentor will also produce two promising youngsters in the unbeaten Decimate (2 from 2) and In The Spotlight (1 from 2), while maiden Anticipating will round out Thompson’s imposing six-strong representation.

At Bendigo, classy stayer Aston Ulysses (14 from 38) looks well-placed to continue his impressive run since returning from a break, having finished ‘top 2’ in all 3 starts since resuming.

Another notable race at Bendigo will pit the ultra-consistent Zipping Zarbo (28 from 61 – 2 from 3 Trk/Dst) against lightly-raced talent Boom Out (6 from 11)

? MUST-WATCH RACE: A1 Signage Mixed 4/5

ABALERO BALE  ? LANGFIELD BALE ? TYPHOON SAMMY

? Ballarat ? Race 8 ? 450m 9:20pm

 Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/707071322/race/8

The Watchdog says
?: TYPHOON SAMMY (7) is one of the newest additions to the Thompson kennel and he made punters take notice when making his Victorian debut at Sale. After beginning well, he carved through the first marker in a slashing 5.27sec before stopping the clock in a dynamic 24.70sec. He came here with brilliant NSW/QLD form and has won at Albion Park over 520m, so he could be a major player in some of the upcoming spring features in town. He takes on a handy line-up tonight, however with the scratching of KING OF GLORY (6), he now has two vacant draws underneath, so with an even getaway he should be able to assume control soon after box rise and a sub 25 seconds run could be on the cards. If there is a danger to the top elect, it appears to be the classy ABELERO BALE (1). He is better suited to a longer journey; however, he did turn in a big performance here last week and with the smaller line-up, he should gain a relatively clear passage in the early stages and then go to work as they turn for home. BYRON BALE (3) and LANGFIELD BALE (4) are both talented types and they must be included in your exotic bets. Can’t wait to see what ‘Sammy’ can do and he is one to put in your black book as he is going to be a major player this spring.

Selections:  7 – 1 – 3 – 4

? THE WATCHDOG’S $10 INVESTMENT ?
? Friday 03 September

? $1 Win – INVICTUS MURRAY
? $1 Win – MELANISTIC                                                   ? Lucky Longshot ?
? Healesville ? Race 6 ? Boxes 3 & 5 ? 350m ⏱ 12:47pm
TAB fixed odds: $4.80 (Invictus Murray)
TAB fixed odds: $8.50 (Melanistic)
Form ?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538929/race/6

The Watchdog says ? : INVICTUS MURRAY (3) can be hard to follow at times, but he has a good record here and holds the class edge. He has a slow beginner on his outside and a fast beginner inside, so with a clean getaway he should get a nice run into the race and he can figure prominently. MELANISTIC (5) is the value in the race. He has always done his best racing here and can turn up the heat mid race. The draw is a slight concern but if he gets a clear crack at them, he could cause a minor upset.

? $2 Win – NOWHERE NATHE
? Healesville ? Race 7 ? Box 1 ? 350m ⏱ 1:07pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.60 Win
Form ?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538929/race/7

The Watchdog says ? : She has a great record here and is a bit of a box one bandit. After two runs since a spell, she should now be at peak fitness and from the good draw she can hold the top early and prove too strong late. THUNDERBOLT JACK (5) is the main danger; however, he can miss the kick and from the awkward draw, he is likely to find early bother and be giving away too much of a head start.

? $2 Multi

First ?: Win – IN THE SPOTLIGHT
? Ballarat ? Race 3 ? Box 2 ? 390m ⏱ 7:38pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.28 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/707071322/race/3

Second ?: Place – ALL INN DUNGEE
? Bendigo ? Race 8 ? Box 4 ? 500m ⏱ 9:28pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.10 Place
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538930/race/8

Third ?: Place – LOVE HEART
? Ballarat ? Race 10 ? Box 2 ? 390m ⏱ 10:00pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.10 Place
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/707071322/race/10

The Watchdog says ? : IN THE SPOTLIGHT (2) is a serious prospect and should be saluting at the short odds. ALL INN DUNGEE (4) is a strong type and can carve out time when in the clear. With the inside division expected to lead, he should get a nice run through mid-race and he will get every chance to make an impact in the closing stages. LOVE HEART (2) is a consistent type and she can really turn up the heat mid race. With the red expected to hold a prominent spot early and then push wide through the bend, our selection should get a nice run through around the first turn and she will hit the line well.

Multi price: $5.65

? $2 Win – YELLOW BRICK
? $1 Win – GLAMOROUS LASS
? Bendigo ? Race 6 ? Boxes 1 & 3? 500m ⏱ 8:47pm
TAB fixed odds: $3.50 (Yellow Brick)
TAB fixed odds: $8 (Glamorous Lass)
Form ?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538930/race/6

The Watchdog says ? : ASTON ULYSSES (7) has the clear class edge and he was brilliant here last week. However from the wide draw, he may be posted wide for most of the journey and he will be giving some talented types a big head start. YELLOW BRICK (1) was super impressive in her heat and she is drawn to hold a prominent spot early, whilst GLAMOROUS LASS (3) is expected to clear the inside division initially and after two runs over this trip in recent weeks, she should hit the line a little better tonight.

? $1 Trifecta – 7 / 1 / 3,4 (50%)                                          ? Must Watch Race ?
? Ballarat ? Race 8 ? 450m ⏱ 9:20pm
Form ?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/707071322/race/8

The Watchdog says ? : TYPHOON SAMMY (7) should be leading throughout, whilst the powerful ABELERO BALE (1) can power home into the quinella spot. BYRON BALE (3) and LANGFIELD BALE (4) are both talented types and one of them can take home the minor end of the money.
