Daily Mail: No ‘lockdown’ for Isolating?

No ‘lockdown restrictions’ for the aptly named Isolating at The Meadows today?

Well, expert form analyst The Watchdog has adopted a ‘safe protocol’, tipping no ‘social distancing’ between emerging talents Isolating (7 from 13 – 6 of past 8) v Don’t Tell Bluey (3 from 5) in a Grade 5 heat (525m) – Race 9, 2.50pm.

Isolating was a dominant Restricted Win (3-6 Wins) final winner over this track/distance last Saturday, while Don’t Tell Bluey’s three wins – all at Sandown Park – have been impressive.

Another interesting match-up will be exciting prospects Mirror Illusion (6 from 13 – 3 of past 3) v Plan Ahead (7 from 36 – dual G3 finalist) v Call Me Buster (7 from 17) – Race 2, 12.30pm.

And ‘keep an eye’ on Angela Langton’s classy litter brothers Keep It Black and Keep It Blue.

A dual G3 finalist and Pink Diamond Rookie Sprinter finalist, Keep It Black (10 from 33) is a potential star – Race 7, 2.07pm – while Invictus Rising (9 from 22) v G3 Warragul St Leger finalist Keep It Blue (9 from 35 – 2 of past 2) should be a bottler – Race 10, 3.07pm.

Meanwhile, at Ballarat tonight, it’s serious up-and-comers Indy Matilda (7 from 20 – 3 from 5 Box 1) v Eat My Dust (6 from 12 – 3 of past 4) – Race 6, 8.38pm. And the talking point may well be: who will be ‘eating dust’?

And, at Sale tonight, track specialist and The Horizon finalist Omega Dodge (11 from 41 – 11 from 34 Trk/Dst) is the headline – Race 6, 8.28pm.

Plus, two promising speedsters Dash Home (5 from 14 – 4 of past 4) v Enabler (3 from 14 – 3 from 6 Trk/Dst) provide the support act – Race 7, 8.48pm.

While Ashlee Terry chases a training double with ‘firebrands’ Pyrocumulus (11 from 37) – Race 8, 9.09pm – and Combust (4 from 9 – 3 of past 4) – Race 10, 9.48pm.

? MUST-WATCH RACE: Feikuai Greyhounds Heat 4

ISOLATING ? DON’T TELL BLUEY

? The Meadows ? Race 9 ? 525m 2:50pm

Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/704862915/race/9

The Watchdog says ?: It’s only a midweek Grade 5 heat, but we get to see two of the state’s most promising youngsters go into battle. ISOLATING (1) has the advantage of the rails draw and has continued to get better with every go around. He’s gone 5.12sec and 5.10sec to the first marker in his past two runs here and a similar performance should see him hold the top at the bend. He was ultra-impressive in his top 30.04sec win here last week but went even faster when defeated the run prior when he broke the 30sec barrier behind the classy Paddy Wants Pats. With a clear run and natural improvement, he should get down to the 29.90sec mark and that will see him go close to scoring again. DON’T TELL BLUEY (7) was luckless when making his debut here in July, but he quickly made amends with three consecutive wins at Sandown Park and all those wins were in slick times. This is his first time exiting box seven, but he’s won two of four from box eight and with the empty draw inside, he should get enough room to balance up and settle on the heels of the ‘red’ as they head through the turn. He’s quite strong in the run home, but I don’t think he’ll bridge the gap on the ‘red’. However, I’m expecting both chasers to carve out time. MCINERNEY (5) and DESERT FLAME (4) are both talented types and could capitalise if the top two elects have a bumping duel, but place claims do appear their best chance.

Selections: 1 – 7 – 5 – 4

? THE WATCHDOG’S $10 INVESTMENT ?
? Wednesday 01 September

? $3 Multi

First ?: Place – PLAN AHEAD
? The Meadows ? Race 2 ? Box 4 ? 525m ⏱ 12:30pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.75 Place (top two finish required)
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/704862915/race/2

Second ?: Win – INDY MATILDA
? Ballarat ? Race 6 ? Box 1 ? 545m ⏱ 8:38pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.60 Win
Form
? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538924/race/6

Third ?: Win – COMBUST
? Sale ? Race 10 ? Box 2 ? 440m ⏱ 9:48pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.35 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/704862914/race/10

The Watchdog says ? : PLAN AHEAD (4) loves racing at The Meadows and will appreciate the smaller line-up. He should get a nice sit early and will be very strong late. INDY MATILDA (1) can run the hands off the clock and will be suited to the 545m journey. She should pounce on the lead and has proven to be very hard to get past when in the clear. COMBUST (2) has some blistering Warragul wins to his credit and appears to have a fair bit on his rivals.

Multi price: $3.78

? $2 Win – MR. NEO
? The Meadows ? Race 3 ? Box 2 ? 525m ⏱ 12:47pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.40 Win
Form
? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/704862915/race/3

The Watchdog says ? : He finds himself in a race with very limited early speed, so should have no trouble assuming control at the first bend. He has the ability to press the 30sec barrier and with the runners behind expected to bunch up, he should have a race-winning break as they turn for home.

? $1 Win – SUNTORY LASS
? $1 Win – ASTON LAVINIA
? The Meadows ? Race 8 ? Boxes 1 & 2? 525m ⏱ 2:29pm
TAB fixed odds: $6.50 (Suntory Lass)
TAB fixed odds: $4.80
(Aston Lavinia)

Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/704862915/race/8

The Watchdog says ? : LUCKY LANCE (8) is an absolute jet and has been brilliant since moving to Victoria. But he finds himself in a race with plenty of early pace inside and may be pushed wide at the bend. ASTON LAVINIA (2) can come out running and I’m expecting her to lead and if that occurs, SUNTORY LASS (1) should get a nice run through at the bend and will be very strong late. At $6.50 and $4.80 I think they represent some value.

? $1 Trifecta – 1 / 4,5,7 / 4,5,7 (16.66%)
? The Meadows ? Race 9 ? 525m ⏱ 2:50pm ***Must Watch Race***
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/704862915/race/9

The Watchdog says ? : ISOLATING (1) should hold the lead at the first bend and that may be enough to see him score. DON’T TELL BLUEY (7) is the obvious danger but needs some luck at the first bend, so we’ve included DESERT FLAME (4) and MCINERNEY (5) for second and third.

? $1 Each Way – AMBER BEAUTY
? Sale ? Race 9 ? Box 2 ? 440m ⏱ 9:28pm
TAB fixed odds: $9.50 Win
TAB fixed odds: $3 Place
Form
? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/704862914/race/9

The Watchdog says ? : I’ve only tipped her for third, but this is a very open race and at the price, she represents a lot of value. She has impressive straight track form and was luckless at Warragul last time out. With the smaller line-up, she should get plenty of room to balance up and will be prominent for most of the journey.
