Potential megastar heads to Warragul

Boom sprinter Mustang Charlie will take on the promising Hennessey in an interesting encounter in Race 9 at Warragul tonight at 9.37pm.

While both greyhounds are only in the very early stages of their careers, they have shown plenty of potential and could put on an absolute spectacle.

Also making an appearance at Warragul this evening is recent G1 Sapphire Crown finalist Persian Goddess (won 7 from 15) in Race 7 at 8.53pm.

And in Race 8 tonight at 9.13pm, the mighty Bound To Succeed (won 27 from 46) will look to add to his exceptional record from the pink alley, from which he has had eight starts for seven wins (87.5%).

Meanwhile, G3 Great Chase winner Dr. Tucker will take on Paua Of Oscar in a tantalising 400m contest in Race 11 at 10.20pm. The latter is the current track record holder over the distance.

Check out The Watchdog’s in-depth analysis of tonight’s Must Watch race, along with his daily $10 spend below.

MUST-WATCH RACE: TAB – Long May We Play Mixed 6/7

HENNESSEY ? MUSTANG CHARLIE

? Warragul ? Race 9 ? 460m 9:37pm

Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711081/race/9

The Watchdog says ? : There are some more high profile match ups on the night, but I think these two speedsters have the star potential and the top elect could be a megastar. MUSTANG CHARLIE (8) has only had three starts, however he has been ultra-impressive in his past two and he has now joined the powerful Thompson kennel. He used plenty of the track in his two Sandown runs and he showed breathtaking mid-race pace, so from a favourable draw he should gain a clear passage throughout and he could go sub 25.70 seconds. HENNESSEY (1) lit up the track here two runs back when making his Victorian debut, and he appears to be the obvious danger. He will exit the red draw again and he should make the top elect work throughout. Punters looking for some value in their exotics might want to include SITIZANO ROCKS (3) and FLYING HURRICANE (7). Both these greyhounds are still learning but have shown plenty of talent to date. Hopefully ‘Charlie’ can step away and do some damage to the clock as he is one to watch going forward.

The Watchdog says ? : She has been extremely competitive against the likes of Rilynn Bale and Four Pillars of late and she should appreciate the slight drop in class tonight. She is armed with blistering early pace and she can set up a nice break in the middle stages before going on to score with ease.

? $2.50 Win – OH SUZIE
? Geelong ? Race 10 ? Box 1 ? 400m ⏱ 5:58pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.70 Win

The Watchdog says ? : She is normally very reliable at box rise and she will find this much easier than her most recent racing. I expect her to have enough pace to hold the early lead and she is extremely hard to get past when in the clear.

Third

TAB fixed odds: $1.50 Place (top two finish required)
Form
? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711081/race/12

The Watchdog says ? : JAGGER BALE (2) has raced with minimal luck since resuming and with the red runner expected to lead today he should get a nice run through and regain some confidence. MUSTANG CHARLIE (8) is legit, and he should break the clock tonight, whilst NERA ENOUGH (7) is a powerful type, and he should gain a clear passage throughout so a top three finish looks likely.

Multi price: $6.89

? $2 Trifecta – 1 / 7 / 2,8 (100%)

? Horsham ? Race 11 ? 410m ⏱ 6:22pm
Form ?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711080/race/11

The Watchdog says ? : CRACKERJACK KEG (1) is a seriously fast animal, and he could give the 23 seconds barrier a nudge today. BALBINA BALE (7) is still learning but she is a powerful type and can run home into second spot. Hard to split DIAMOND SIENA (2) and GOT ONE FERNANDO (8) for third, so its best we take them both.
