With Good Friday almost upon us Victorian greyhound racing is set to make a sizeable donation to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Every time the number four dog wins a race in Victoria during March, $300 is being donated to the Good Friday Appeal, thanks to GRV, Victoria’s 13 race clubs and Sportsbet.
With 124 winners so far this month, that’s $37,200 raised!
Furthermore, the donation amount will double to $600 for every blue number four winner on Good Friday (March 29) – with Geelong, Horsham and Traralgon having the privilege of racing on that day.
Adding to the total, the greyhound community collectively raised $11,092.75 as part of 3AW’s Climb for the Kids at Eureka Tower in Melbourne on March 1 to kick off the month-long campaign.
That takes our overall fundraising tally to over $48,000 with still a few days to go!
