In case you missed it

Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of runs from around Victoria that have caught the eye over the past fortnight.

#1 LEDERHOSEN BOY (Box 8)
Breeding: Oct ’20 Hasten Slowly x Art Noveau
Trainer: Heather Baxter, Murtoa
Record: 1 start 1-0-0

Dale says: Lederhosen Boy completely bombed the start in his first race and was a clear last early. Making up significant ground mid-race yet still spotting the leaders a healthy start turning for home, Lederhosen Boy somehow continued to close in on the leaders. He sprouted wings over the final stages to score one of the best last-to-first wins by a debutant that you will see.     Results

#2 ADHANA RICO (Box 4)
Breeding: Jul ’20 Fernando Bale x Bella Rico
Trainer: John Barbara, Exford
Record: 8 starts 4-1-0

Dale says: I absolutely loved this run by Adhana Rico, who came desperately close to winning despite finding severe bother. Having just his seventh race start, he was squeezed out towards the rear of the field. His ability to make up the ground he lost, factoring in the slick winning time of 23.89 seconds, makes this one of the runs of the fortnight.     Results

#3 ZIPPY TESLA (Box 4)
Breeding: Aug ’19 KC And All x Zippy Daph
Trainer: Andrea Daily, Anakie
Record: 38 starts 10-10-6

Dale says: Contesting a heat of the Victorian Sprint Championship at Sandown Park, Zippy Tesla turned in one of the better chasing performances you will see. He displayed great track sense and an enormous desire to win. Considering the quality of opposition, this was a top-shelf performance.     Results
