The promising Jungle Panther faces impressive youngster Compton Redeemer in a 450m Restricted Win heat at Shepparton, with the meeting switched from evening to a morning start due to the hot weather forecast.

Jungle Panther has finished top-three in 11 of his 16 races (four wins), while Compton Redeemer – racing for the first time since December 9 – has recorded five wins and two minor placings from eight starts.

Paddy’s Marvel – victorious in his last five races and 20 of 34 overall – is the standout chaser in a Mixed 4/5 450m race, while Windy Storm is eyeing his fifth win from eight starts in a 450m Restricted Win heat.

Aston Grange, Studley and St. Marys Panda should be a terrific tussle in a Mixed 3/4 485m event.

Cracking affair and we should see two potential stars test the clock. COMPTON REDEEMER (8) burst onto the Victorian scene with some scorching Ballarat wins and he is expected to fire fresh today. He has handled wide draws well in his brief career and with his main rival expected to miss the kick slightly, he should get plenty of room to balance up and assume control. JUNGLE PANTHER (7) is still learning what it is all about, but he has a breathtaking 25.46sec Geelong win to his credit and he likes to stay wide in his races. If the two main fancies can both gain a clear passage, they should press the 25-second barrier.
