Daily Mail: Can ‘Panda’ upset ‘Lomar’ at Shepparton?

St. Marys Panda – two-from-two in Box 7 – is facing G3 Great Chase finalist Paint Peeler and the promising Perfect Lomar – victorious in three of her seven starts – in a Grade 5 450m race at Shepparton tonight.

Aston Profit – top-three in eight of her nine starts in Box 1 – is the standout chaser in a Mixed 4/5 385m event, while consistent greyhounds Studley, Snack Attack and People Get Ready contest a Mixed 4/5 450m race.

Got A Repair v Tobin Frost v Axedale Pirate and Bad Boy Vegas v Smart Rose v Whiskey Road should be competitive battles in the two 385m Restricted Win heats.

Traralgon also stages their second meeting at the J-Curve track in preparation for Friday night’s heats of the G2 Traralgon Cup.

? $3 Win – PERFECT LOMAR

? Must Watch Race ?

Grade 5

? Shepparton ? Race 6
? Box 3 ? 450m ⏱ 8:41pm

TAB fixed odds: $2 Win

The Watchdog says ?: PERFECT LOMAR (3) is a serious talent and with a lack of pace on either side, I’m expecting her to roll to the lead soon after box rise, and she should be able to press the 25-second barrier.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:

PERFECT LOMAR (3) has only had the seven starts, however she has three electrifying wins to her credit. She doesn’t have great box manners, but she does drop the hammer quickly and if given room early, she should be off and gone through the bend. ST. MARYS PANDA (7) turned in a brilliant performance here two runs back and she looks to be the obvious danger. She is armed with a great turn of foot and likes to stay wide in her races. With slow beginners on either side, she should get every chance. PAINT PEELER (1) owns a scorching 25.09 PB here and she will power to the line.

The Watchdog says
? : ASTON PROFIT (1) has a fair bit on her rivals, and she is drawn to make every post a winner. STUDLEY (1) has been far from disgraced in strong company of late and he is drawn to return to the winners list. With a wide runner on his outside, he should get plenty of room early on and that will allow him to assume control as they head through the bend.
