Daily Mail: Glorious grudge matches

A cracking night of racing awaits at The Meadows including a battle between superstar kennelmates Christo Bale (6-time G1 finalist v Zipping Rambo (G1 Sandown Cup) in a Gr8 Eight over 600m. Read more

Also tonight, a cracking rematch is on the cards between Providence Bale (won past 7) v Tiggerlong Tonk (2 x G1s), with the former getting the better of the superstar at Sandown Park last week.

Other big names racing at The Meadows tonight include Kuro Kismet (G3 Launching Pad) and Aston Gwen (G2 Laurels), while tonight’s Warrnambool race meeting is headlined by the appearance of Chop Scotch (11 from 22) and celebrity greyhound Papi Go Fast (20 from 37), who is named after Melbourne Storm superstar Ryan Papenhuyzen.

Meanwhile, it was a record day for the Daily Mail yesterday with a massive 261% return, so be sure to check out ? The Watchdog’s $10 spend below…

? MUST-WATCH RACE: GR8 Eight Series

BOUNCE BACK ? ZIPPING RAMBO ? CHRISTO BALE ? RADEK BALE

? The Meadows ? Race 8 ? 600m 8:46pm

Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/674913633/race/8

The Watchdog says ?: The Gr8 series has continued to attract some of the state’s best greyhounds and tonight’s line-up is no exception. CHRISTO BALE (5) has been enormous since resuming from a spell and he went to another level here last week. After taking over soon after box rise, he went into overdrive mid race and blew away his rivals in a scorching 34.15sec. He managed to go sub 9 seconds to the first marker, so if he can reproduce that, he should be able to settle in a prominent spot. His kennel mate ZIPPING RAMBO (4) has captured back-to-back group races, and he is one of the most versatile chasers we have seen. I thought he was originally up against it tonight but, with a vacant draw on his inside now, he should be able to get across at the first bend and it will be race on. The only concern for ‘Rambo’ tonight is that there is a heap of early speed in this event, and he does not like to be crowded or have a runner on his outside, so he will need to spear the lids and get into the clear as they pass the post the first time.

The Watchdog says ? : WYNNUM STAR (2) is far better than her form indicates, and she should get a nice run through in the early stages behind the red runner. She is very strong late, so a top three finish looks likely. AUBAMEYANG (1) would prefer a wider draw, but he has a dynamic turn of foot and, with a clean getaway, he can hold them out at the first bend and figure in the finish. ZIPPING RAMBO (4) and CHRISTO BALE (5) are expected to dominate, however BOUNCE BACK (2) is flying at present, so we have included him in our Bundle Bet. WINLOCK THOR (1) loves racing here, and he will scrape the paint throughout. With an ounce of luck in running, a top three finish is on the cards.

Multi price:
$4.73

? $3.50 Place – HE SHALL BLITZ
? Meadows ? Race 5 ? Box 4 ? 525m ⏱ 7:40pm
TAB fixed odds: $3.30 Place
Form
?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/674913633/race/5

The Watchdog says ? : HE SHALL BLITZ (4) is armed with a powerful finish and this event features quite a few front runners who are suspect late, so with a clear passage in the middle stages, he can pick a few of them off late and sneak into a place at nice odds.

? $3 Quaddie – 8.33% (36 combinations)
? Meadows ? Races 5 – 8 ⏱ 7:40pm          ***Includes Must Watch Race***
Form
?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/674913633/race/5

?: 2,3,4,5,7,8

? ?: 6

? ? ?: 3,4

? ? ? ?: 2,4,5

The Watchdog says ? : KURO KISMET (6) is a big risk in the first leg, so we have gone wide with a hope of finding some value. TIGGERLONG TONK (6) missed the kick last week but is expected to make amends tonight. ONE NIGHT ONLY (3) and ASTON GWEN (4) are expected to control Race 7 and the winner should come from one of those two. ZIPPING RAMBO (4) and CHRISTO BALE (5) are both on fire at present, but so too is BOUNCE BACK (2), so we’re hoping the winner can come from one of those three.
