Mile A Minute has claimed back-to-back straight track features after reigning victory in the 2024 Group 2 Healesville Cup today.

15 days prior, Mile A Minute claimed the Group 3 National Straight Track Championship Final at Murray Bridge representing Victoria.

Trained by Jackie Greenough, Mile A Minute started as the $3.80 favourite from box 7, the same box he won his heat in.

“It’s been an absolute thrill,” Brad Greenough said.

“He did everything right today and gave himself every chance. If he didn’t come out like he did, it would have been hard to run them down.”

Less than two lengths separated place getters. Zipping Gryllis for Brooke Ennis finished second, while Valhalla for Tom Tzouvelis finished third.

Owner and breeder Rod Campbell cut his holiday short in Queensland to make it on track to watch Mile A Minute in the Sportsbet Healesville Cup.

“[The Greenough’s] are the best,” Campbell said.

“The best to deal with and the best at what they do.”

Celebrations are set to continue well into the evening, with plans to keep the Healesville Cup itself full of a celebratory drink.
