Daily Mail: ‘Jefferson’ is viewing victory

GOTBA Cup winner Jefferson County faces Freya Bale, Traralgon 350m track record holder Maxed Out, G3 winner Blackpool Flash, Smokin’ Charlie and G3 finalist Gold Skulltula in the $15,250 Glenview Cup Final at Traralgon this evening.

The in-form Whistling Bullet and G3 placegetter McKeon Bale headline the $15,750 Floodfawn Classic Final.

In the other night meeting at Bendigo, dual G3 winner Barooga Smoke v TAB Phoenix runner True Collinda should be a tremendous clash, while two heats of the Winter Cup are being staged.

Four-time G2 champion Ferdinand Boy and G2 winner Compliance feature in the Great Eight 460m event at Geelong this afternoon, while Pink Diamond Champion Short Course winner Silver Brute stands out in the Great Eight 400m race.

TAB fixed odds: $1.40 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538729/race/2

The Watchdog says
? : PEAKY BLAZER (1) turned in a great performance here last Saturday night and there should be no excuses from the good draw. WEBLEC SCOUT (10) was luckless in his heat and a clear run early should see him settle in a prominent spot and a top-three finish is on the cards. SOVERIEGN LAW (1) was enormous here last Friday night, and he should be scoring again.

Second
?: Place – SAILOR’S GIRL
? Geelong ? Race 11 ? Box 1 ? 400m ⏱ 6:25pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.75 Place (Top two finish required)

TAB fixed odds: $1.45 Place (Top two finish required)
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538759/race/9

The Watchdog says
? : SAILOR’S GIRL (1) is normally very reliable at box rise and with SAGACIOUS (2) expected to race middle to wide, she should get every chance to hold the lead and a top-two finish looks likely. GREYSYND SHOCK (7) has turned in some big performances of late and with the vacant draw on his outside, he should get every chance to balance up and with a clear passage he should hit the scoreboard.

Multi price: $3.93

? $2 Win – JEFFERSON COUNTY

? Must Watch Race ?

Glenview Cup Final

? Traralgon ? Race 6
? Box 7 ? 395m ⏱ 8:32pm

TAB fixed odds: $5.50 Win

The Watchdog says ?: GOTBA Cup winner JEFFERSON COUNTY (7) was far from disgraced here in his heat and with the inside division expected to bunch in the early stages, he should be off and gone in the middle stages in what should be an extremely competitive affair.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:

The explosive JEFFERSON COUNTY (7) has won here previously in a sizzling 21.86sec and with the inside three runners expected to bunch, he should be able to cross in the middle stages and he will take a power of beating. GOLD SKULLTULA (9) gains a start from Box 8, and he can atone for his luckless heat run. He returned to form recently with a slashing 25.81sec Warragul win and he will get a nice cart across early on. BLACKPOOL FLASH (3) is a terrific provincial sprinter and he was far from disgraced when resuming in his heat. He is a near faultless beginner, and he will hit the line a lot better tonight. FREYA BALE (1) and MAXED OUT (2) are both talented, but they can’t afford to make any mistakes at box rise.
