Daily Mail: ‘Rory’ to be fearless at Warragul

Dual Group finalist Fearless Rory – victorious in eight of his 17 starts – is the standout chaser in a Grade 5 460m heat at Warragul this evening, but G1 National Derby finalist Pristine Image cannot be taken lightly.

Brewski Bruce, Throw Caution and Aubameyang highlight their respective races, while G1 Maturity Classic finalist Envy To Burn headlines a Mixed 4/5 410m event at Horsham this afternoon.

? $4.50 Multi

First
?:
Place – SYDNEY MONELLI
? Horsham ? Race 7 ? Box 1 ? 410m ⏱ 5:03pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.35 Place
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538719/race/7

Second
?: Place – PINJARRA BALE
? Geelong ? Race 8 ? Box 2 ? 460m ⏱ 5:11pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.40 Place
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/783013915/race/8

The Watchdog says
? : SYDNEY MONELLI (1) was far from disgraced when placed in his heat and with that being his first look at the track, he will be much better for the run and a top-three finish looks likely here. PINJARRA BALE (2) is armed with slick early speed, and she will appreciate the big drop in class.

Multi price: $1.89

? $4 Place – DARNUM DIVA
? Warragul ? Race 4 ? Box 1 ? 460m ⏱ 7:45pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.70 (Top two finish required)
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538720/race/4

The Watchdog says
? : DARNUM DIVA (1) can be a little hard to follow at times, but she loves to chase when there is a hot tempo up front. The promising and short priced favourite STRIKER (6) is expected to dictate terms throughout, and he will be carving out time. If DARNUM DIVA can step on terms, TRIPLE CROSS (2) will give her some cover and she can get a nice sit on the favourite throughout.

Grade 5 Heat

? Warragul ? Race 5
? 460m ⏱ 8:05pm

The Watchdog says ?: Dual Group finalist FEARLESS RORY (6) has a fair bit on these and he should be winning. WHY NOT OPAL (4) will set a cracking pace and she might be able to hold on for second. PRISTINE IMAGE (1) is the obvious one, however we have gone wide for third in the hope of securing some value.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:

FEARLESS RORY (6) is one of the brightest prospects in the state and he is expected to light up the clock. He returns to Warragul where he is two-of-two over this track/distance and he owns a slick 25.80sec PB. Since recording that PB here in January this year, he has carved out blistering wins all over the state with his latest being at Geelong in a scorching 25.54sec. If he reproduces something similar tonight, a sub 25.60sec run should be on the cards. If there is to be an upset, PRISTINE IMAGE (1) appears to be the likely suspect. He has been luckless in his past few runs, but he did record a cracking 24.74sec when scoring at Sale in May. WHY NOT OPAL (4) will set the pace, however the last 60m is a concern.
