The Watchdog says ?: Group 3 Provincial Plate winner HENNESSEY (8) – a finalist in two Group 2 country cups as well – should be winning with ease in this class, while the powerful ERTUGRUL BEY (2) can run home into second or third spot.
‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:
HENNESSEY (8) is one of the best provincial sprinters and he is expected to return to the winners list tonight. He has won here previously in a breathtaking 24.81sec and he looks very well graded. There isn’t a lot of genuine pace drawn directly underneath, so a clean getaway should see him cross at the bend and zip away as they turn for home. RAICHU (1) rises in class tonight, but he has come up with the inside draw and he beat a handy line-up at Ballarat last time, so with an even getaway, he can hold a top three spot initially and then hit the scoreboard. ERTUGRUL BEY (2) would have preferred a wider draw, but he is a powerful type, and he has turned in some tremendous performances of late.
