New rules to provide better national consistency

GRV is planning to introduce updated national and local (Victorian) rules of racing on 1 May in line with all Greyhound Racing Controlling Bodies in Australia.

The final rules follow extensive consultation with the industry over the past 18 months. The updated national rules were endorsed by all jurisdictions across Australia in August 2021.

Since that period GRV has spent time updating the local (Victorian) rules to align with the national rules concluding public consultation in March 2022.

The updated national and local rules provide much better national consistency and will assist all participants to have a clearer understanding of the rules.

The updates further improve integrity and the regulatory framework for taking the sport forward into the future.

Wherever possible GRV will take an educative approach to implementation of the updated rules and continue to work with participants to achieve compliance under its regulatory framework.

Further updates about key changes will be available on GRV’s Greyhound Care and Standards website at https://greyhoundcare.grv.org.au/rules-of-racing and additional notifications will be made to all participants in the coming weeks.

If participants have further questions about any changes they are encouraged to contact the GRV Participant Support line on 1300 144 360 or email [email protected].
