How to spend $20 on the TAB Temlee

TAB has put up Aston Rupee (Box 4) favourite at $2.50 for the $100,000 to-the-winner Group 1 TAB Temlee this Saturday night at The Meadows.

And The Watchdog says, “he’s over the odds”.

“This race should be run to suit. There’s an abundance of speed drawn in one (Kinson Bale), two (Idolize) and three (Spotted Elk).

“And if Aston Rupee can do everything right at box rise, he should be able to lob on the fence, head into the back in third or fourth and they’ll be sitting ducks.

“The only little knock on him is that his box four record isn’t great.

“But we know how good he is, those Sandown Park runs were tremendous – breaking 30sec just for fun. Loves The Meadows as well – 29.47sec PB.”

The form analyst says Lala Kiwi (Box 8), installed second pick at $4.60, is “under the odds”.

“I love her… I think she’s been a fantastic greyhound.

“However, from box eight, she’s going to have to work hard in the initial stages. I don’t think she’ll be able to come off the speed in this company.”

“Aston Rupee should be able to lob on the fence, head into the back in third or fourth and (the leaders) will be sitting ducks.”

The form expert says New South Wales star Zipping Kyrgios (Box 5), at $5, is “an amazing chaser”.

“He can lead or come from off the speed … He’s racing with great confidence; the only concern is the box draw.

“I don’t think he’ll be able to settle in front of Aston Rupee and therefore he won’t be able to pick him up.”

The Watchdog’s $20 spend

$8 Trifecta on 4 / 1,2,7 / 1,2,5,7,8 (66.66% return)
$7 Exacta on 4 / 1,2,7 (233.33% return)
$5 Trifecta on 4 / 2 / 1,5,6,7,8 (100% return)

Twenty

The Watchdog says $10 chance Idolize (Box 2) is “the value”.

“She’s gone to another level of late, winning that Futurity in New South Wales… She’s getting stronger every time.

“So, if she does hold the top and there’s a bit of bunching behind, she could be off and gone down the back.”
