Daily Mail: ‘Levitation’ to ascend at Sandown Park?

A number of promising youngsters, including Sandown Park 29.25 winner Levitation, will contest a Mixed 6/7 515m race to start the meeting at Sandown Park tonight.

The Watchdog’s top selection Zambora Charlie (Sandown Park 29.53 winner), Zipping James (nine top-two finishes from 10 starts) and Flight Risk (Bendigo 23.74 winner on debut) will be strong challengers to Levitation.

G1 Adelaide Cup champion Do It – runner-up in the G1 Hobart Thousand final – faces dual G1 finalist Junk Food Junkie and G2 finalist Got The Torque.

Two-time G1 finalist Drako Bale headlines a Mixed 4/5 595m race that includes G1 finalist I’m Easy Boys and last start winner Call Me Buster.

Prolific winner Zipping Zarbo is the standout chaser at Warrnambool this evening.

TAB fixed odds: $3 Win

The Watchdog says ?: ZAMBORA CHARLIE (1) was far from disgraced when placed here last Thursday night after missing the kick. With a clean getaway, he is capable of carving out a sub 5.08sec to the first marker and that should see him hold the top through the bend and he will be able to break them up in the middle stages.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:

LEVITATION (6) is one of the boom youngsters in Victoria at present and if she can reproduce her blistering 29.25sec run here from two starts back, she will prove hard to hold out. However, she has plenty of early speed drawn around her tonight, so she can’t afford to make any mistakes. ZAMBORA CHARLIE (1) blew the start here last Thursday night when well fancied and he is expected to make amends tonight. He went 5.12sec to the first marker here two runs back from box two, so if he can time the start tonight, he should be able to go sub 5.08sec, and that will see him hold the top early. FLIGHT RISK (5) was a scorching debut winner at Bendigo, and he must be respected in his metro debut, while ZIPPING JAMES (2) and LADY ZEEVA (8) are both promising types and they need to be respected.

The Watchdog says
? : He is a star in the making and he turned in a gutsy performance to win his heat in a handy 29.77sec. He had to work hard throughout in his heat, so with a clear run early, he should have the pace to cross the red early on and he is capable of carving out a sub 29.30sec when in the clear.

BIG GORDY (1) has turned in some cracking performances of late and he is drawn to get all the breaks tonight. So, with a clean getaway, he can hold a prominent spot early and prove too strong late.
