King Of Calypso is going through a renaissance in form and is aiming to extend his winning streak to five races this afternoon at The Meadows in a Mixed 4/5 525m race.

However, The Watchdog is tipping Painkiller to stop the unbeaten run of King Of Calypso.

Freya Bale got within one length of the Cranbourne 311m track record last start and returns to the track and distance this evening.

Fellow short-course specialists Rumour Is Fact and Bean’s Multi are considered the best chances of denying Freya Bale a fourth victory in her last five starts.

Impressive last-start winner Paua Of Mindy faces the talented Aston Tango at Ballarat tonight, while Sandown Park 29.56 winner Mighty Marvin is favoured to boost his strike rate.

He finds himself in a very winnable race again and he will be suited by the smaller line-up, however he runs into the extremely underrated PAINKILLER (7), and he can’t afford to make any mistakes. PAINKILLER has been racing against some elite talent of late and he is armed with a great turn of foot. There is limited early speed engaged in this event, so if he can step on terms, he should be able to hold KING OF CALYPSO through the bend and then prove too strong in the run home.
