After only making his debut on November 12, exciting youngster It’s Only Money is drawn to complete a meteoric rise to stardom in Saturday night’s Group 1 TAB Silver Chief (525m) at The Meadows.
It’s Only Money, trained by owner/breeder Michael Vaughan at Newcomb, passed the biggest test of his fledgling career with flying colours in last Wednesday’s Silver Chief heats when eliminating series favourite Kinson Bale.
After drawing the prized rails alley for the $100,000 to-the-winner final, It’s Only Money is a $7.50 chance with TAB.
At just his seventh start, It’s Only Money ($8.40) overcame Box 5 to head off $1.90 favourite Kinson Bale ($1.90) and lead all-the-way in 29.97sec, defeating the Melbourne Cup placegetter by 2.7 lengths.
