The Watchdog says ? : Steven White always has a good one in his kennel and PAUA OF BUDDY (1) appears to be his newest rockstar. He has only had the three starts but two of those have been in breathtaking times over this track/distance and he can only get better with more racing. He went through the first marker in a sizzling 6.46sec from box six last week before coming home in a scintillating 25.49sec. From the red tonight, he should be able to pounce on the lead soon after box rise, and he may be able to trim his already impressive PB. The only real danger is himself, however CONNOR MAN (2), DAWN SPIRIT (4) and ZIPPING UTAH (6) are all capable types and will be looking to fill the minor end of the money. Fingers crossed he does everything right tonight and we can see him head back to town as he is a genuine star in the making.

GLAMOROUS LASS (6) will appreciate the drop in class in the second leg and is the top elect, whilst track specialist GOLDEN YEARS (2) must be included. PATRICIA MAUREEN (1) and KNIGHT ZIPPER (4) have the class edge in the third leg, and they are expected to dominate. PYROCUMULUS (2) returns from a spell in the final leg and, if fully fit, should pounce on the lead and score.

The Watchdog says ? : He has turned in some handy performances since moving to Victoria and he heads to a suitable track today. In QLD he had strong straight track form and from a suitable draw today he should be able to clear the red soon after box rise and find the rail. In his four Victorian runs, he has shown blistering mid race pace before tiring in the final 50m, so the 300m trip will suit and he really does look to be a great bet.

The Watchdog says ? : CRYMELON COMET (2) has only had the four runs, but he has been very impressive in two of those outings and he will appreciate the step up to 485m today. He raced over the 410m journey here last week and he really powered to the line when placed behind the promising Crackerjack Noah, so with the slight rise in distance he should be able to settle in the top two and then assume control through the bend. His main rivals are drawn out wide and they are front runners, so with a clear run early, he should prove too strong late.
