MUST-WATCH RACE: TAB Venue Mode Grade 5

KOBLENZ ? The Clock

? Bendigo ? Race 11 ?  Box 1 ? 425m 4:07pm

Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711093/race/11

The Watchdog says ? : KOBLENZ (1) has really taken all before him in recent weeks and has announced himself as a potential star. In late April and early May, trainer David Geall put him to the test and stepped him up to 500m, and he responded with three brilliant wins, two of those in scintillating times. He has since returned to the provincial circuit and scored two wins at Shepparton in phenomenal fashion, holding out a red-hot Hazey Roy on both occasions. He runs into a couple of handy ones today, but from the inside draw he should pounce on the lead and a sub-23.60sec run could be on the cards. Kennelmate MAASAI MARA (2) looks to be the main danger, whilst IMPRESS TROY (3) and ASTON MIREYA (4) can both run cheeky races.

Selections:  1 – 2 – 4 – 3

The Watchdog says ? : He really impressed me when scoring on debut here recently and, on that occasion, he showed tremendous early speed and had no trouble crossing from the pink alley. He runs into a good one in ASTON FLAME (7), but from the red draw he should be able to punch through and hold the lead. With the ability to get down to the 23.90sec mark, he will prove awfully hard to reel in.

The Watchdog says ? : MAVERICK SANDY (1) is racing with confidence and she is drawn to lead for a long way. She might get picked off late, but a top two finish looks likely. FATHER PHEVOS (2) should roll to the lead and a top three finish looks likely. EARN THE FIZZ (2) is another who should lead and although suspect late, he should have enough in the tank to finish in the top two. SUPER MARLI (4) was brilliant here last week, and she will appreciate the empty draw on her outside, so with an ounce of luck early a top two finish looks likely.

Multi price: $5.80

? $2 Trifecta – 1 / 2 / 3,4 (100%)
? Bendigo ? Race 11 ? 425m ⏱ 4:07pm             ***Must Watch Race***
Form ?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711093/race/11

The Watchdog says ? : KOBLENZ (1) is a serious star on the rise, and he should be leading throughout. His kennel mate MAASAI MARA (2) should follow him through early and fill the quinella spot, whilst IMPRESS TROY (3) and ASTON MIREYA (4) are hard to split for third spot.

? $2.50 Win – KENJI BALE
? Geelong ? Race 9 ? Box 1 ? 460m ⏱ 9:45pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.30 Win
Form
?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711091/race/9

The Watchdog says ? : He has raced well in town to date and with his brilliant early pace he should appreciate the drop back in distance tonight. From box one he should pounce on the lead, and they will have a hard time reeling him in as he should be running around the 25.90sec mark.
