‘EQUALIZING’ EFFECT!

It’s said racing is a great ‘equaliser’… But that should be a misnomer at The Meadows.

The Watchdog believes superstar Equalizer – who is back to his brilliant best – has ‘no equal’ in a Free For All (525m).

In the all-powerful Jason Thompson kennel, he’s a dual G1 finalist and twice a runner-up in G2 country cups. And he’s notched five wins from nine starts, with a 29.71sec PB, over 525m at The Meadows.

“He ventured to Ballarat and posted a near-record 30.34sec when winning over 545m and followed up with a last-to-first win here last week in a sizzling 29.74sec,” The watchdog said.

However, the expert form analyst is also mindful of the Andrea Dailly-trained Gypsy Yankee’s ability. He finished third to Utah Express in a Launching Pad Consolation and was second to Equalizer, albeit beaten 6.7L, here last week.

“He can probably get down to the 29.80sec mark and if ‘Denzell’ finds early bother, he could steal the prize.”

The Watchdog is also full of praise for Lil Dickie Oaks finalist, Qwara Bale, one of five runners Dailly has in this race.

“She’s armed with dynamic pace soon after box rise and has been scorching around Sandown Park in recent weeks.”

Check out The Watchdog’s extensive analysis of tonight’s ‘Must-Watch’ race, along with his best ‘Win’ and ‘Place’ bets in today’s edition of the Daily Mail.
