BEST ‘WIN’ BET

TRENDING AIR
👥 Andrea Dailly, Anakie
📍 Ballarat 🏁 Race 9 🔲 Box 1 ⏱ 9:40pm

Comment 🎙 TRENDING AIR (1) has really elevated her game in recent months and although she has some very quick wins to her credit, I think her most impressive performance came last time in defeat. She was crowded in the initial stages but once she found the inside and some clear running, she set sail after the leader (Stebonheath Lad) and ran him to a half-length in smart time. She has recorded a blistering 6.50sec to the first marker here previously, so from a good draw he should reproduce something similar and will have a nice break as they turn for home. BROTHER BEARING (4) is a star prospect and deserved favourite but doesn’t have the same amount of early zip as the ‘red’ and is likely to get crowded soon after box rise and may have trouble reeling in the leader.

Key stat: Won two of three from this draw (67%).

TAB fixed odds: $3.90 Win.

Investment 💰 $1 Win.

BEST ‘PLACE’ BET

BRUTE
👥 Rebecca Gibbons, Avalon
📍 Ballarat 🏁 Race 6 🔲 Box 1 ⏱ 8:38pm

Comment 🎙 Top two finish required. He showed a return to form when placed here last week and looks suited. After stepping fairly, he headed straight for the rail and showed a great turn of foot soon after. From the ‘red’, he should hold a forward spot as they head directly into the bend and once balanced can assume control in the middle stages. I think he can win the race, but his box manners sometimes let him down. So, the top two option appears to be the safer investment.

Key stat: Placed in four of eight from this draw (50%).

TAB fixed odds: $4.00 Win; $2.00 Place.

Investment 💰 $1 Place.

COCO NOVA 🆚 MASKED AVENGER 🆚 BRAEMAR PRINCE 🆚 TRENDING ZIRCON

GRV Vic Bred Series Grade 5 Final

Comment 🎙 High class final with some potential stars lining up. COCO NOVA (2) was the fastest qualifier after she speared the lids in her heat, she is clearly going to be one of the main fancies but with blistering pace drawn either side tonight, she will need to come out humming again. MASKED AVENGER (3) was a little slow to begin in his heat and was a tad unlucky in running, he has the potential to shave two lengths off his first marker time last week and that would see him assume control at the bend tonight. With the ability to press the 25 seconds barrier, he is expected to make a big impact tonight. BRAEMAR PRINCE (4) comes into this with 12 wins from 18 starts and he is one of the most promising chasers in the state. The box draw is a slight concern but if the ‘Avenger’ steps well, the ‘Prince’ should be able to follow him across and pour the pressure on throughout. TRENDING ZIRCON (5) is the value runner, she caught the eye when placed in her heat and with a better getaway tonight, she can go one better. At double figure odds, she must be respected.
