Shima’s main danger revealed

Form expert The Watchdog has identified $10 chance Aussie Secret (pictured above) as the main danger to odds-on favourite Shima Shine in Saturday night’s $67,000 Group 2 CHS Group Horsham Cup Final (485m).

Much has been made of Shima Shine’s inability to win a country cup in his spectacular career – despite starting favourite in all three country cup finals he has contested – and his record from Box 7 is below par with just two wins from six outings (33%) compared to his overall record of 31 victories from 51 starts (61%).

And while The Watchdog is tipping Andrea Dailly’s superstar to win, he would not be surprised if an upset occurred.

“Aussie Secret will be better for his heat run. I expect him to lead and he should get down to around 27.05sec, which would be more than enough to run the Quinella spot.”

“I think he is going to run an absolute cracker… he does look the only genuine early speed dog in the race.”

The Watchdog said another of Dailly’s contenders – she has four in the final – must be respected.

“Aussie Secret aside, the other main chance of causing a boilover has to be Jax Bale.”

“I think he (Aussie Secret) is going to run an absolute cracker… he does look the only genuine early speed dog in the race.”

“He has come up with the plum draw (Box 1)…he’s two from two from the red.”

“He blew them them away in his heat, and he’s coming off a Cranbourne Cup win when he ran 29.68sec and beat a pretty good line up.”

The Horsham Cup will be run at 9.19pm on Saturday night, featuring comprehensive coverage on GRV’s Facebook Page and via The Watchdog app from 8.30pm.

WATCH: AUSSIE SECRET (8) looked to have his Horsham Cup heat parceled up mid-race before being overpowered in the run home by JIM ZARR DASHIAN (2) who won in 27.17sec.

The Horsham Cup is the first leg of greyhound racing’s inaugural ‘Western Festival of Racing’, which incorporates four country cups and over $700,000 in prize money.
