Inside the place to be

Shima Shine is one of three greyhounds main chances in tonight’s $214,500 Group 1 TAB Topgun (525m) at The Meadows at 8.45pm, according to the TAB market.

Trainer Andrea Dailly believes that box two will give her dual track record breaker every opportunity in his quest for his first group victory.

“We would much rather be drawn inside because then we aren’t having to cross an entire field of good dogs to get a good position,” Dailly said.

“They are all very quick, so I feel his best chance to win the Topgun is finding the lead early.”

Shima Shine’s last two visits to The Meadows produced Best of Night wins, including a scintillating 29.67sec victory in September.

“Early doors he didn’t like The Meadows, but he has got better and better on the track,” Dailly added.

This morning’s TAB market shows that Shima Shine has drifted a little – he is on the third line of betting at $4.20 behind WA sensation Tommy Shelby ($2.70) and Simon Told Helen ($3.10).

The $108,000 Group 1 Topgun Stayers will also be run at The Meadows tonight at 8.10pm.
