Oh Mickey, you’re so fine

Queensland star Oh Mickey appears to have his work cut out for him in tomorrow night’s TAB Topgun (525m), with TAB listing him as a $26 outsider.

Oh Mickey had his first run at The Meadows on Monday, stopping the clock in a time of 29.85sec in a trial after recording sectional times of 5.20sec and 17.90sec.

“He will improve on that run for sure,” trainer Selena Zammit said.

“We couldn’t get him on a flight, so he had spent three days on the road to get to Melbourne.”

Zammit said she is more than happy that her greyhound is drawn near the rail in box three.

“Oh Mickey’s box manners aren’t the best. We want him to be in front to give him the best chance.”

Oh Mickey has won 18 races from 32 starts, with The Watchdog warning punters not to write him off completely.

“He’s down on confidence but he has scored some electrifying wins in Queensland and could cause an upset in the Topgun,” the expert form analyst said.

Oh Mickey is aiming to join Black Enforcer (2005) as the only Queensland greyhound to win the TAB Topgun.

The Group 1 TAB Topgun will be run at 8.45pm, with the Group 1 Topgun Stayers (725m) to run at 8.10pm.
