SUNDAY SPECIAL – TRUE DETECTIVE

Forever the punting ‘true detective’, it seems The Watchdog has it all worked out!

Following some ‘forensic’ form analysis, he’s selected the Jeffrey Britton-trained True Detective as one of his Bets of the Day in a Mixed 4/5 (595m) at Sandown Park this afternoon.

And already it appears ‘case closed’, as True Detective only has four rivals to contend with.

True Detective is rated a potential staying star, so let’s investigate why…

Well, there’s compelling evidence considering he’s already notched seven wins from only 12 starts and boasts personal bests of 34.09sec at Sandown Park (595m) and 34.19sec at The Meadows (600m). He also finished third in last week’s Group 3 Speed Star (595m) at Sandown Park.

Based at Anakie, Britton could ‘get away’ with a treble on the 10-race fixture. He also has Repercussions (Race 2, Box 1) and Western Envoy (Race 10, Box 7) engaged on the program. And both are The Watchdog’s top tips in their respective events.

Check out True Detective (box three) at work, with a successful ‘raid’ in a Restricted Win final (595m) at Sandown Park on July 18 this year:
