Hat-Trick For Xylia

THREE STRAIGHT TRACK RECORDS FOR CHAMP AS VIC STAYERS HIJACK SERIES
Xylia Allen, who took it up to champion stayer Miata in the early part of her career before winning three Group 1 races as a sprinter, has returned to distance racing with a huge bang.

The Jenny Hunt-trained greyhound has broken track records in her past three starts – at Horsham over 570m (31.93sec), Geelong over 680m (38.91sec) and at Wentworth Park over 720m (41.53sec) on Saturday night.

Her most recent victory, in a heat of the Group 1 Association Cup, shattered Dyna Willow’s record by three and a half lengths, and Xylia Allen now has the chance to secure her fourth Group 1 in Saturday night’s $75,000 to-the-winner final.

Remarkably, all eight Association Cup finalists and the first reserve are trained in Victoria.
