With the average age of the top 10 Victorian greyhound trainers being 50, it may appear that to be successful you need to have years of experience behind you. This myth is put to bed by Angela Rowland who shows that age is no barrier in greyhound racing. 

Youngsters are an integral part of greyhound racing; their enthusiasm and passion for the sport provides great hope for the future.

Angela Rowland is someone who epitomises this character, a successful stint as a young trainer and now working at Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club in an administrative role, she reflects the value of having youngsters in the industry.

When asked of her best memories whilst training, Angela commented “winning the 2003 Sale Maiden Vic Breeders Final with Fire Bolt on my 18th birthday.
