Some of the big time performers from the recent Maturity series at The Meadows will clash in Race 7 at Sandown Park tonight. A standout race on what’s a brilliant card – the must-watch races.

Wrongly Accused, Happy Dad, Storm Hustler and Off The Chart all ran near enough to their best in their Maturity heats at The Meadows, but Isolynx data shows they achieved it in very different ways.

As expected, Off The Chart produced the most explosive performance. He reached a top speed of 71.5km/h and led Happy Dad for most of their heat before being caught late.

Interestingly, Wrongly Accused had the lowest maximum speed of the four… His advantage was at the finish – a 5.89sec final 100m is elite at The Meadows. Thursday’s inside draw should also help him avoid covering unnecessary ground.

Happy Dad was the most balanced performer. He wore down Off The Chart after producing the strongest mid-race sections, the data shows he reached the equivalent 515m point marginally faster than Wrongly Accused.

Storm Hustler’s performance was built on recovery. He was 7th after 20m, 5th at 50m and already 3rd by the post before eventually taking the lead late. Another slow start from box four would be risky, but his ability to accelerate through traffic is a big asset.

As for those that contested Maturity heats – Off The Chart is always the most likely leader, Wrongly Accused the strongest closer, Happy Dad has the sustained-speed and Storm Hustler is the wildcard.
