Mouthwatering clash headlines stacked Sandown card

It’s a mouthwatering contest that we didn’t see coming.

Wrongly Accused meets Off The Chart at Sandown Park this Thursday night, Race 7.

They’re joined by Maturity finalists Storm Hustler (runner-up) and Happy Dad, as well as Geelong Cup winner Paw Matic and powerhouse Zelda Covilha. The other two Full Noise and Lektra Beta are going to find it too hard.

To think we’re treated to this quality of race with the grade Mixed 4/5 by its side, is wild, but the way it is.

It’s a race difficult to assess, outside of the facts that Off The Chart has the most amount of early pace and Wrongly Accused has the scariest ‘beast mode’ of the race.

The race is a deadset treat for us.

Aside from that, it’s a damn interesting card.

Race 2 – Saturday’s Maturity winner Indy Melmen returns to Sandown Park

Race 4 – Hurricane steps back up to his best distance and has come up with the best draw

Race 5 – Fireball runner-up Amron Toy meets fellow finalist Mepunga Donna who gets the outside draw that she needs

Race 6 – Like A Rock backs up after another blinding win last week, meets the highly entertaining Paw Damon

Race 7 – That race…

Race 8 – We spoke last week about the rarity of a Mixed 2/3 graded race, we’ve got another one. Winners from last week Galento and Flying Ducati will play a big part again

It’s a card of highlights as we build up to the Nationals. Which will be hosted as Sandown Park this year, with the National finals there too.

  • National Sprint and Distance heats (Victoria) – next Thursday, August 6
  • State finals (Australia wide) – Thursday August 13
  • National Sprint and Distance finals – Saturday August 29
