Sandown Park tips on a brilliant card of racing

It’s a belting card at Sandown Park tonight as we build up to next week’s heats of the Nationals. Tonight’s clear highlight is Race 7, featuring the two highest profile sprinters in the country in Wrongly Accused and Off The Chart, even their rivals are damn good – it’s going to be an absolute cracker.

Catch my thoughts before every race at Sandown Park tonight on Sky Racing 1.

BEST
Race 3, Paw Stella (1)
She steps up to the ‘600’ metre distance tonight which should prove no issue, she’s very handy and strength is an asset of hers. Box 1 doesn’t harm her chances either, My Mate Leo (2) may be tricky to navigate early but is no match for Stella overall. Whiskey Whiskers (7) is a big danger, he’s drawn where he wants to be but I feel wide runners don’t often excel over this distance.

NEXT BEST
Race 8, Flying Ducati (7)
He was a good chance before the scratching of Galento, how he’s out, Flying Ducati is a great chance. He should be able to go forward and lead, from there he’ll be hard to catch. Giacomo (8) isn’t going to find the draw easy, as well as the favourite Vista Weird (1) who has limited early speed and wants to move wide.

VALUE
Race 6, Corban Yaxley (3)
Corban Yaxley is a fast dog but he needs the elements in his favour. I’m relying on Flaming Smooth (4) beginning well and staying wide, making things awkward for the good dogs drawn out there. That then opens the door for Corban Yaxley to get room. He’s fast enough to win the race, just needs things his way which is a fair chance of happening. At double figure odds he’s a good value play.

WORTH THE RISK/TAKE ON
Race 10, Mother Georgia (1)
I’m nervous about this one, she’s odds on but she’s no good thing. She’ll begin well then move wide and there could be a couple there to meet her. She hasn’t been the strongest greyhound on the two turn tracks in town either. At odds on the risk isn’t enormous and I think she’s vulnerable.

QUADDIE
Race 5: 1,8
Race 6: 1,3,6,7
Race 7: 2
Race 8: 1,2,7
