It’s a pretty tame meeting at Sandown Park tonight but there looks to be plenty of questions to be answered. Whether that be youngsters still learning their trade or last week’s McKenna winner Paw Vortex first up over ‘700’ metres. The highlight of the card is clearly Paw Oswald v Hot Nanu in the Free-For-All.
But we won’t see a performance as good as Organised Crime’s last night at The Meadows – check it out, the 7th fastest time never set at the track.
I’ll be on Sky Racing 1 before each race at Sandown Park tonight with one eye on the footy – go swans. No doubt a night that will produce plenty of talking points for tomorrow’s edition of Grey Areas, live from midday on the Watchdog App, Facebook and YouTube.
BEST
Race 6, Zelda Covilha (3)
He’s a total class act, should go forward here and be very difficult to run down. Gold Code (6) is highly likely to give him some curry in the early part of the race but Zelda Covilha is faster overall than what she is. He’s a ripper and I expect him to go well tonight.
VALUE
Race 8, Paw Stella (4)
She’s the main blowout chance to beat the two clear favourites in this. Her runs have been decent lately, plus the times of her past two wins need to have an asterix against them due to slower track conditions. It’s a rare decent draw too. I wouldn’t fall over if she ran a good race.
WORTH THE RISK/TAKE ON
Race 2, She’s Alluring (4)
She’s clearly got ability but tonight’s speed map isn’t flash for her, adding to that it’s probably the best field she’s met yet. There’s other dogs in this race that can run what would be considered a winning time here. She’s favourite but I’m happy to be against her.
