Tonight’s action at Sandown Park is headlined by McKenna Memorial final, Race 8. However in Race 4 we see one of Australia’s fastest greyhounds in Dramatical, who should be putting on a good show. Race 6, the Free-For-All, is also a race of strong interest featuring prominent winner Paw Oswald.

For what it’s worth, Eventuate is my selection in the night’s main event.

Race 5, Deadly Cool (6)
She began well last week then got bumped which totally halted her momentum. The challenge she faces tonight is easier than last week. I’m not too worried about the draw. She’s got enough speed to potentially lead and her times over 515m suggest it’s a matter of time before we see a good one over this distance of 595m.

NEXT BEST
Race 1, Reality Einstein (6)
I rarely like to get involved in races of this sort of grade but this fella looks well placed. He’s got some speed and likes to be wide on the track. The favourite Mister Rico (1) will step well, but he’s desperate to push wide which is a red flag. Hopefully Einstein can mind his own business out wide and accelerate to the front.

VALUE
Race 4, Paw Monet (4)
She’s unlikely to win this race, as Dramatical (1) has it on a plate. However she will burn to the lead and based on her runs at The Meadows, should run around a time of 29.50-29.60. There’s no third dividend but you should get a good quote late for her to be runner-up.

WORTH THE RISK/TAKE ON
Race 6, Paw Oswald (2)
Can’t believe I’m doing this, as he’s a star, but his race looks messy and he hasn’t been beginning awfully well. There’s plenty of speed around him and I expect things to get really awkward for him. He’s odds on and that’s way too short. Take on!
