Dramatical headlines Horsham Cup heats

Just 26 greyhounds will contest this Friday’s heats of the Sportsbet Horsham Cup, but the quality of that lot is pretty strong.

While many of Victoria’s stars have headed to Queensland to prepare for the Brisbane Cup (heats on Saturday July 4), one of the biggest names of them all will head to Horsham – Dramatical.

Heat 1 (4.57pm)
Clearly headlined by Sportsbet Australian Cup winner in Dramatical, who has drawn perfectly in box 1. I think he could be as short as $1.30 when markets open.

Heat 2 (5.15pm)
This is a much more competitive heat compared to the opener. Zelda Covilha drops back in distance but will be suited by the Horsham track. He meets Prison Break who won last Thursday’s best race at Sandown Park.

Heat 3 (5.36pm)
Pink Diamond Champion Sprinter winner Crackerjack Ralf has to contend with a more difficult draw, but he goes like the wind at Horsham. He meets the flying Distinction and Dustin who faces his biggest test yet.

Heat 4 (5.53pm)
Pink Diamond Champion Distance winner Vista Weird drops back in distance and the draw isn’t ideal in box 1. I think we’re all keen to see young gun Organised Crime step out on the big stage for the first time.

With just the four heats, the winner and runner-up from each will progress to the final. The final will be run the following Friday, June 26.

Catch a deeper look at the heats on this Friday’s edition of Grey Areas – live from midday on the Watchdog App and GRV’s Facebook page. Make sure to also follow Grey Areas on Spotify.
