Fields out for Week 1 of the Trilogy

The eyes of the greyhound world will turn to Sandown Park this Thursday night for Week 1 of the Trilogy, featuring heats of the Sportsbet Sandown Cup, Sportsbet Harrison-Dawson and Sportsbet Sapphire Crown.

Due to the volume of nominations, there will be just three heats of the Sportsbet Sandown Cup. The opener sees Magpie Hector and Electrify meet again after clashing in ‘The 715’ at The Gardens recently.

Heat 2 features the in-form South Australian star Apilla. She takes on Ayden’s Warrior as well as the 2024 Sportsbet Sandown Cup winner Irish Millie.

Heat 3 sees the local staying superstar Without A Trace and she meets Lightning Quick who was superb at Sandown Park last Thursday.

The Sportsbet Sapphire Crown heats, restricted to female greyhounds, kick off the program. Pre-nominations favourite Distinction lines up in Heat 3 and is sure to attract plenty of attention following her shock defeat at The Meadows on Saturday night.

The Sportsbet Harrison-Dawson heats round out the card and are stacked with star power. Pre-nominations favourite and recent Golden Easter Egg winner Off The Chart lines up in the final heat and looks set to get every opportunity to unleash his trademark finishing burst after the first 20 metres.

The action kicks off at 7.07pm. Buckle up, it’s going to be a beauty.

The top 2 from each Sportsbet Sandown Cup heat plus the two fastest 3rds will make up next Friday’s final, while the top 2 from each Harrison-Dawson and Sapphire Crown heat will advance to their respective final

Without A Trace (8) wins the Bold Trease in November, defeating plenty of runners who line up in Thursday’s Sportsbet Sandown Cup heats
