Greyhound racing returns to Traralgon today for the first time in nearly two years, with a 13-race program marking the long-awaited reopening of the redeveloped venue.
The opening race is set for 10:12am, with the final event scheduled to jump at 2:07pm, showcasing a full slate of action across the morning and early afternoon.
“It’s super exciting – it’s been two years in July, since we had our last race here,” Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club General Manager Nick Lecchino said.
“There’s been a huge response from participants, with more than 150 nominations received for the return meeting.”
The redeveloped Traralgon track now features a one-turn design similar in style to Sale.
Greyhounds will contest races over all three distances throughout the program – 350m, 425m and 570m.
With strong nomination numbers and a refreshed racing surface, the Traralgon comeback signals an exciting new chapter for greyhound racing and its people in Gippsland.
