Easter Gift compliments Launching Pad culmination

Some of Victoria’s sharp open class sprinters line up in Thursday’s Group 3 Easter Gift, which plays a role as one of the many support acts to the Launching Pad at Sandown Park on Thursday night.

Vincent Bale produced a mammoth effort when runner-up to Matt Loch in last Friday’s Geelong Cup. He headlines this Easter Gift field and returns to the track for the first time since breaking 34-seconds over 595m on Boxing Day.

Despite the profile and form of the ‘Big V’, Sportsbet have installed Bagman as the favourite after his blinding run last week in which he broke the famous 29-second barrier over Sandown Park’s 515m.

The talented Bebop Jazz is also considered a strong contender from an inside draw.

Other support races include the Runway final (consolation series for greyhounds who didn’t progress to semi-finals) where Mailata looks to be the strongest player.

There’s also the Launching Pad Consolation (greyhounds who ran 3rd and 4th in their semis-final) where Gambella again looks a giant, again from an average draw. She ran home in an unfathomable 10.26 in her semi-final – CLICK HERE for the Race Data.
