Two champions inducted into Hall of Fame

Two of Victorian greyhound racing’s most prolific dogs from the mid-2010s were inducted into the sport’s Hall of Fame at Thursday night’s Victorian Greyhound Awards.

Up Hill Jill, winner of $884,561 in prizemoney including a Golden Easter Egg and a Topgun, and My Bro Fabio, winner of $478,585 and sire of champion Wow She’s Fast, joined an illustrious list of Hall of Famers on Thursday.

David and Rose Geall said they would give Jill an extra hug and a kiss when they returned home on Thursday night, after proudly receiving the induction on her behalf.

Up Hill Jill is one of Victorian greyhound racing’s most successful sprinters, having raced 85 times for a 38-28-7 record.

Her career highlights include the 2018 Golden Easter Egg when she defeated arch rival Striker Light in the Wentworth Park feature, as well as the 2017 Topgun, and her record as a mum was also recognised.

Meanwhile, Brooke and Jamie Ennis were thrilled to accept My Bro Fabio’s induction.

He raced 52 times for a 26-10-4 record, claiming three group 1s during 2014 and 2015 including a Hume Cup by 14-and-a-half lengths and a Temlee.

But his biggest legacy may be that of his star offspring Wow She’s Fast, the record prizemoney winner in Victorian greyhound racing history.
