SHIMA EMERGES FROM THE SHADOWS

Shima Shadow has broken his country cups drought with an emphatic win in the 2024 Sportsbet Geelong Gold Cup.

The son of Bernardo and 2016 Geelong Gold Cup winner Shima Song proved too powerful from Box 8, winning in 29.77 seconds (Best).

Shima Shadow made it four wins from his past five starts and 23 from 52 overall.

He had made four previous Victorian country cups, including a third placing in this year’s Shepparton Cup.

It was the third time the Dailly kennel has won the Geelong Cup, with their previous winners being Dyna Tron (2011) and Shima Song.
