Minister for Racing, the Hon. Anthony Carbines has appointed Carly Dixon to the Board of Greyhound Racing Victoria for the next three years.
Ms Dixon has a vast knowledge of the Victorian racing industry, having spent five years as an Executive General Manager at Racing Victoria.
She also brings a wealth of corporate knowledge, having served as Australia Pacific Airports Corporation (Melbourne Airport) General Manager of Corporate and Public Affairs from 2010 to 2018. Currently, she is the Chief Executive Officer of James MD Distribution.
Ms Dixon’s accomplishments in the racing industry and executive experience across a range of private enterprises make her a valuable addition to the board.
Minister Carbines said Ms Dixon’s experience would be invaluable to the board.
“Carly Dixon is a welcome addition to the Board of Greyhound Racing Victoria, which will continue to be supported by strong leadership,” he said.
“I have no doubt that the appointment of Ms Dixon will enhance the board and support the growth of greyhound racing in Victoria.”
GRV chair Peita Duncan echoed Minister Carbines’ sentiments.
“We’re delighted to welcome Carly Dixon to the board of Greyhound Racing Victoria,” Duncan said.
“Carly has a well-established resume, most recently as an executive general manager at Racing Victoria, and before that a government relations, corporate and public affairs background at Melbourne Airport.
“Her stakeholder engagement and strategic leadership experience, as well as her racing industry knowledge, will be great assets to Greyhound Racing Victoria and the boarder industry.”
Ms Dixon is replacing outgoing board member Robert Greenall, whose term ended in January this year. Mr Greenall served as a member of the board since 2015.
“I thank Robert Greenall for his many years of service to the board and Victoria’s greyhound racing industry,” Minister Carbines said.
