In case you missed it – Alpha Zulu, Peacock and Trending Yale

Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of runs from around Victoria that have caught the eye over the past fortnight.

#1 ALPHA ZULU (Box 5)
Breeding: September ‘21 Orson Allen x Cyclone Jebel
Trainer: Jason Thompson (Pearcedale)
Record: 7 starts 5-1-1

Dale says: Alpha Zulu is a potential superstar of the sport who produced one of the fastest 525-metre wins seen at The Meadows this year on Saturday night.

He displayed unrivalled early speed posting a near-record first split of 4.95 seconds with an overall flying 29.66 victory in this exhibition of high-octane speed.

#2 PEACOCK (Box 2)
Breeding: January ‘20 My Redeemer x Summer Nights
Trainer: David Plumridge (Wheelers Hill)
Record: 68 starts 17-8-11

Dale says: Peacock was absolutely poleaxed soon after box rise and with the brilliant Xoie Bale left well out in front, all chance of winning appeared lost.

However, Peacock somehow managed to get balanced and he sustained a powerful run to score this eye-catching victory.

Breeding: January ‘21 Bernardo x Trending
Trainer: Tom Dailly (Anakie)
Record: 26 starts 4-9-4

Dale says: Although the winner Boomburst was brilliant in winning, the runner-up effort of Trending Yale was absolutely top shelf.

After being posted wide through the first turn, the ground she made up given the time the winner ran (34.40 seconds) made this run off the charts.
