Prizemoney increases set for implementation

As announced in July, the $8.85M uplift in prizemoney and travel subsidies for the 2022/23 racing season have been successfully automated and will apply to all meetings from 1 September 2022.

The increase in prizemoney is primarily targeted at Level 2 Provincial racing, with all grades receiving a lift in stakes.

Implementation of the increases is timely, as the G2 Healesville Cup (heats 4 Sept) will be the first regional event to benefit from the substantial boost to heat prizemoney, combined with the addition of unplaced prizemoney for finalists, which is now on offer for all Victorian Group 1 finals ($2,000 for 5th-8th) and Group 2 finals ($1,000 for 5th-8th) as part of the total prizemoney uplift package.

The combined value of prizemoney, bonuses, travel subsidies and starters fees on offer for greyhound breeders, owners and trainers will total $71.5 million for the Victorian 2022/23 Racing Season.
